Sweta’s Mendhi Night

Sweta and Aman flew into Vancouver from Atlanta with their friends and family to celebrate their marriage over several days (Sweta’s parents live here in Vancouver). It was a privilege to photograph their wedding and these images are from the first wedding event, the mendhi night.

One of my favorite sequences was when Aman arrived with his friends and he started looking for his initials. Traditionally the groom’s initials are hidden in the intricate patterns. He must search for the initials, and if he can’t find them he is expected to give a gift to his new bride!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything wedding related and with everything that’s been happening lately unfortunately blogging has taken the back seat for a while, but stay tuned as there is a lot more from Sweta and Aman’s wedding coming soon!

Noirita - Awesome photography. Keep it up.

Anthony - These photos a beautiful! I really love the vibrant colours. Absolutely stunning. Are you using a tilt-shift lens for some of these?
